The newest MMG rapper spoke to Complex about his life prior to meeting rap mogul Rick Ross.
Hard times can fall on anybody at any given time. All it takes to get out of those hard times, however, is one chance. For rappers, the chance to get out of any struggles they may be wrestling with comes in obtaining a record deal. They’ll have to be heard by some well connected people and even then the chances are slim. Still, it is far from impossible to accomplish such a feat.
The dream recently came true for Isa Muhammad in Venice Beach, California. A YouTube video surfaced in late June of Muhammad freestyling for the Maybach Music Group founder. The bars that were delivered appeared to impress Rick Ross in the video, which turned into an invitation for Muhammad to join the MMG crew alongside Meek Mill, French Montana and Wale. Since that video surfaced, Muhammad has been seen hanging around MMG members, including an appearance at Rick Ross’ Fourth of July party.
During MMG Weekend, where the label mates showcased their future releases and what to expect from the label, Muhammad spoke to Complex about his past before he met Ross. He explained in the interview that prior to his freestyle, he was actually homeless. Only a few weeks later, he has released a single under the Maybach label, titled “Chemtrails and Muslim Wars,” and appears to be filming a music video for the song as well.
It is clear that Muhammad is now living the dream. From one impressive performance for one influential person in the music industry, Isa Muhammad has gone from homeless to getting a chance to make a name for himself. Clearly he will be someone to watch out for in the near future.
