The Drake fans involved posted videos of the encounter online and the internet has since gone crazy.
According to the video posted to Snapchat and Twitter, the Slaughterhouse emcee appeared to be pulling out of his driveway when two Drake fans ran onto his property and started recording him. Budden’s response was to give chase to the two trespassers, going so far as to get back into his car and tail them for several minutes. Budden finally stops the two men who ran up to him and delivers some serious threats. Budden can be heard in the video saying “If you come on this fucking block again, I’m going to kill one of you little niggas. […] This is not the internet. I will kill one of you.”
The two men who initiated the encounter took the opportunity to increase their internet fame. The postings on Twitter received thousands of retweets and favorites, including those from some influential members of the rap game.Tyler, the Creator supposedly favorited the original posts. Throughout the recording, the two men repeatedly tell Budden to follow them on Twitter, which OVO leader and Joe Budden adversary, Drake actually did. Fellow Budden nemesis Meek Mill posted screenshots of the encounter on his Instagram account, with his caption mocking the situation.
Budden, as clearly understood in the video, did not take the situation lightly. He took to Twitter himself later in the day to express his thoughts on the matter. “These are some of the greatest memes ever, but I truly hope you kids don’t make running up to people’s homes a thing. It’s dangerous,” Budden tweeted. In the heat of the moment, it was easy for him to be upset and perhaps get carried away. Now that the situation has ended, it is good that he can at least take it a little more lightly.
